Daredevil Season 1 Review

No, not the Ben Affleck one!

Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Vincent D’Onofrio

Daredevil is the first Netflix show which is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 13 episodes follow blind lawyer, Matt Murdock and his story as he looks to prevent crime through his job during the day and at night with his enhanced senses, beating a lot of people up in a bad ass Black costume. The show follows his rise to becoming a hero in this universe. Multiple times throughout the show you see Daredevil getting beaten down and having to force himself to get back up. The show also follows the rise of Wilson Fisk, who as we all know later becomes Kingpin. Vincent D’onofrio does a superb job of bringing the character down to earth and at some points you really do understand why he is doing what he is and the line between which character is hero and which character is the villain becomes blurry.

The fighting for me was the best part of the show; it was very realistic and felt like street fighting! And because the show is on Netflix we get the bloody fighting that we have not previously seen within the Marvel Universe and there are a few moments that were a bit gruesome. This is not a show for children!

The show truly does the Daredevil character justice and puts him in this world that really suits the character. The show gets me really excited about the future of the Netflix shows! They somehow feel like they are in their own world and the Marvel world at the same time! We do really need to see Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders in Captain America Civil War!! It also makes me wonder at what could have been if Agents of SHIELD was a Netflix show too.

Overall, I really enjoyed the show and I am so excited about the future. I rate Daredevil 9/10! Way better than the Ben Affleck version!!
