Jurassic World Review

Chris Pratt + Dinosaurs. Don’t see how this could have gone wrong to be honest.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt as Owen, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire, Vincent D’Onofrio as Hoskins, Irrfan Khan as Masrani, Jake Johnson as Lowery, BD Wong as Henry Wu and lots of Dinosaurs!

22 years after Jurassic Park was released we return to Isla Nubar and this time the park is fully operational. We follow Claire (who is running the park for Masrani) and her nephews who are flown into the park for a VIP experience of the island. We find out that there is a new attraction being “cooked up in the lab” called the Indominus Rex, which is a hybrid of a T-Rex and many other animals. Owen, a Raptor trainer, is brought in to see whether this man made dinosaur would be safe for the park but of course the Indominus Rex escapes their captivity and causes havoc across the whole park releasing all sorts of other Dinosaurs who take a fancy with human meat, so we follow our characters as they try to stop this animal from destroying the park completely.

This movie brought back the feeling you got from watching the first Jurassic Park. There are alot of hidden easter eggs from the first film and even the classic them returns. The concept of the film sold me straight away but after the trailers I was abit unsure but after I started watching it I just sat back and enjoyed it! The performances by everyone were solid and Chris Pratt crushes it as always. The CGI was good, I think they did as much practical as they could. It will be interesting to see where the film series goes next, perhaps something like a Rise of the Planet of the Apes (hopefully with a shorter title than that) which could be interesting if it was done right as long as we don’t get any talking dinosaurs!

Overall, I think Jurassic World was really really enjoyable and deserves a rating of 8/10! I think the people that hated it love the first too much. Also I am pleased it smashed so many records but let’s be honest Star Wars is gonna obliterate those records!

So what do you think is in store for the Jurassic World franchise and what did you think of this installment?
