The return of 007. I will keep this as spoiler free as possible and do a spoiler review where I go in to more depth.

Spectre stars Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Monica Bellucci.

Bond is back and this film ties together the previous Daniel Craig films. When Bond receives a cryptic message, he flies to Mexico City and takes down his target. He then flies to Rome to meet the widow in order to track down the organisation he was working for. Bond infiltrates the secret meeting and finds out it is the criminal organisation known as SPECTRE. Back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre of National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6 led by M (Ralph Fiennes) as Max looks to bring the world’s secret services together. Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw), Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White, who may hold the clue as to tracking down SPECTRE. As the daughter of the assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot. As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns a chilling connection between himself, the enemy and his past.

When the trailer was released a few months go, I wasn’t 100% of how good the film was going to be. But never the less, I was still very excited as it is James Bond after all. I didn’t like Skyfall as much as other people but still enjoyed. Spectre is a very different Bond film than we have seen in a long time. If you are a fan of the classic Bond films, more than the new ones, I think you will enjoy Spectre more than Skyfall and Quantum of Solace. There is more story to it, as well as keep a high level of action. We see a different side of Bond too and it is refreshing to see. The film market is full of films with action for 2 hours and that is it and it is hard to pull off a decent film like that. It was good to see a different Bond and makes me look forward to the future of the Bond franchise especially where the film left off. As traditional in the newer Bond films, there is a small bit of comedy and it works and doesn’t take you out of the film as the moment does not last long. Q and Moneypenny get a bit more screen time which was good to see as it really added to the characters.

I will go into a bit more depth about the film in a spoiler review where I will talk more about the characters and the big moments in the film.

Overall, I rate Spectre 8/10! It is slightly long but you don’t notice it. A really good 007 film that I think will get better with time. Potentially the best Daniel Craig Bond film.
