John Wick is back!

John Wick: Chapter 2 stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common and Riccardo Scamarcio.

After the events of the first film, John Wick is back in the criminal world and must repay a debt by taking out a target. When a big contract is put out for him, John will take on everyone to get to the person who put that price on his head.

After seeing the first John Wick, I was not sure about seeing a second outing for the character and wanted it to be a standalone film, just because I was not sure how they could up what they did without repeating themselves, but they managed to expand the John Wick universe naturally. The progression felt natural and fir perfectly leading on from the first film.

Positives. I have to start with the amazing action that is throughout the entire film. The first film had some amazing action scenes but the sequel goes to a new height adding more deaths and a lot more brutal deaths, as well. What is amazing is the new creative actions scenes that they come up with, the scenes are similar to things we have done before, but they manage to keep the fights interesting and fresh. Keanu Reeves once again owns being John Wick and is perfect for the role. The whole universe of John Wick is expanded upon with the character going international to take out a target, which was refreshing really helping this sequel to be bigger, better and crazier than the first.

Negative. Common did not work for me in the film. His acting was poor, his delivery was poor and stood out as a bad point towards an, almost, perfect modern-day action franchise

Overall, I rate John Wick: Chapter Two 9/10! A massive cliffhanger is left at the end of the film, so I can not wait to see the third chapter in the franchise.
