SUPERMAN LEGACY CASTING

Casting is well underway for Superman: Legacy and the internet is going crazy speculating and waiting for anything they can get. Yesterday we got a mix of 4 names that are all in the mix to play Clark Kent. The names include David Corenswet (who strikes a certain resemblance to Henry Cavill), Tom Brittney, Andrew Richardson and Nicholas Hoult (who was also linked to play Lex Luther). Corenswet will definitely be the fan favourite due to his resemblance to Cavill, but will naturally get a lot more pressure for that reason. Casting rumours for Lois Lane include Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynevor, Samara Weaving and Rachel Brosnahan, all strong names for the mix. James Gunn has come out and stated only only person has been cast in Superman: Legacy so far, with that likely to be one of his regular collaborators like Michael Rooker.

Gunn also confirmed this week that Krypto the Superdog will make an appearance in the film.

BEETLEJUICE 2 CASTING

Beetlejuice 2 was heavily rumoured for a long time. The cult classic was never one that needed a sequel but some fans had been clamouring for. It’s on the way with Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara all reprising their roles from the original. Joining the cast is Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Jenna Ortega, reuniting with Burton after the huge success she got after the first season of Wednesday.

THE MEG 2: THE TRENCH TRAILER

The Meg had so much potential to be a camp fun stupid horror Jaws wannabe, unfortunately it knew that and missed the mark. It’s still an okay watch but had such potential. The sequel teases more of the same, lots of Jason Statham running around (or swimming around) against the biggest shark possible. Of course, the sharks are going to get bigger and more of them as the films go on. The Meg 2: The Trench will hit cinemas August 4th and stars Jason Statham, Cliff Curtis, Sienna Guillory, Skyler Samuels and Shuya Sophia Cai.

THE CROWDED ROOM TRAILER

Anything with Tom Holland is gonna get a lot of hype behind it due to his fanbase, and he has chosen some interesting projects on his time away from being everyone’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. His latest project also stars Amanda Seyfried in an Apple TV+ mini series, which tells the story of a man who gets arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, and they try to find the criminal behind it before the real criminal strikes again. This one is just a couple of weeks away, dropping the first episode on June 9th.

BIRD BOX BARCELONA TRAILER

Bird Box was one of Netflix’s biggest ever hits. The 2018 film drew a lot of comparisons to A Quiet Place, apart from being sight instead of sound. It also didn’t have the same impact that A Quiet Place has but never the less pulled in big numbers on the streaming service. This Spanish spin-off does grab my attention however, and is something that I’d be interested to see more spin-offs of other films showing how events transpired across the world. Subtitles will no doubt put people off this one when it drops on Netflix on July 14th.

FLAMIN’ HOT TRAILER

We had a little phase of getting the origin of products and businesses when we had the likes of The Founder, Jobs and The Social Network which seemed to have died away but with Air earlier this year we are having a resurgence, and once again with Flamin’ Hot, the story of Richard Montanez when he came up with the idea of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos which made them into an iconic snack. The film is the directed by Eva Longoria and will be released on Disney+ on June 9th.

REALITY TRAILER

This one is noteworthy not only for it’s interesting story but the fact that it sits on 100% on Rotten Tomatoes after the film’s debut at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film tells the story of a former intelligence specialist who recieved the longest sentence for the unauthorised release of government information to the media about Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections that got Donald Trump elected. The film stars Sydney Sweeney, Josh Hamilton and Marchant Davis and will be released on June 2nd here in the UK.
