REBEL MOON TRAILER

Zach Snyder’s next film has his fans eagerly anticipating what is shaping up to be Netflix’s Star Wars. Rebel Moon has an all star cast consisting of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Cary Elwes, Jena Malon, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Anthony Hopkins and Ray Fisher. The Star Wars comparison’s are very not subtle from the fact it’s about a rebellion and there’s a character with essentially lightsabers, but it certainly looks to be more adult and action heavy with Snyder’s own unique vision. The film is also a 2 parter with the first part arriving on Netflix then the second part in April next year, so any fans won’t have to wait too long.

DUNE DELAYED

With the continuing strikes still not looking like they’ll be coming to an end anytime soon due to the studios refusing to support actors and writers, it was inevitable that films were going to start to be delayed. The main one heavily being considered to be pushed for quite a while was Dune: Part Two and now we have confirmation that it will indeed be being pushed until March 2024. This has caused Warner Bros to also push Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire back a month as well, however Wonka and Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom are still sticking to their current December release dates for now. The only people to have profitted from this move is Marvel as this now will let The Marvels be shown in IMAX as Dune was to have the format locked down for it’s run.

BARBIE CONTINUES TO DOMINATE

Barbie is continuing to thrive at the box office, and has overtaken The Super Mario Bros Movie to become the highest grossing film of the year so far, and will likely hold that crown for the rest of the year as it has a relatively clear run with nothing operating in a similar market it will just keep til it fades away when everyone has seen it. As a reward for this achievement, at the end of September, Barbie will be shown in IMAX for a week.

AHSOKA EPISODE 1 & 2 REVIEW

Star Wars fans once again finally have some content to get into with the first two episodes of Ahsoka now being available to watch on Disney+. The series takes place around the same time the events of The Mandalorian S3 are happening, after the fall of the empire and continuing the plot that Rebels left off with. Ahsoka reunites with Sabine and Hera on their quest to track down Ezra and prevent the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the people who are wanting the return of the Empire.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. It feels perfectly like Star Wars, with great action, great characters and a great score. Dave Filoni is in charge of this series having created the character and he wrote this series as well. I’m really excited to see where this series heads, theres some great mysteries and interested to see how this show culminates. There is particularly the little mystery about who the Inquisitor Marrok and whether it’s Ezra, Starkiller or Barriss Offee. I can’t reccommend this show enough for any Star Wars fan even if you haven’t watched Rebels yet.

Thank you for this support and hopefully it will be out normal next week, but I am also in the process of moving house next week, something that might take a little while, but I will do my best.
