DUNE: AWAKENING TRAILER

As you may have worked out (or maybe not due to the break I was having when Dune: Part Two was released) I am a huge fan of the Dune universe, so naturally when I found a game was being made, I was all for exploring what I consider to be the most interesting universe I’ve seen for a long time. We’ve not had too much information about the game in recent months but with Summer Games Fest underway there was no better time. The trailer shows what the story of the game will be about. The game takes place in an alternate universe where Paul Atreides wasn’t born, instead of giving birth to a son, his mother gave birth to a daughter and how that changed the universe without Paul to be there as Lisan-Al-Giab. It’s a fantastic trailer that teases what honestly looks like a really interesting story game that I’m very excited to play. Or I was until the end of the trailer reminded me that it was a MMO, and I then thought back to the struggles I had trying to play Star Wars: The Old Republic (which I’ve heard is fantastic), so the jury is out on whether I’ll give a go when it’s released.

PADDINGTON IN PERU TRAILER

Paddington 1 & 2 have gone down in history as not only being fantastically charming films about the loveable bear, but Paddington 2 being one of the highest rated films of all time on Rotten Tomatoes currently sitting with a critic score of 99% (it sat on 100% for a long time, so whoever caused that 1% is just miserable and hates having a good time). The next adventure has been extremely highly anticipated due to the high praise the previous entries have recieved, and the trailer promises a return to that style, as soon as the trailer a smile came across my face as we see our favourite bear trying to get his passport picture taking. The whole film looks a lot of fun which is a relief after the previous director, Paul King left to direct Wonka and the director for this film has primarily directed music videos and adverts. There will be a lot of bums in seats for this one when it is released in UK cinemas 2 months before the rest of the world in November.

MOANA CASTING

The live action Moana has finally found it’s casting for the title role. When the project was announced it was initially confirmed that Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho would be reprising their roles from the animated version, but it wasn’t long before Cravalho exited the project seemingly to give way to a more age appropriate actress to take the role which has now been given to Catherine Laga’aia. It has also been confirmed that John Tui, Frankie Adams and Rena Owen will also have roles in the film as Moana’s family.

BLADE CHANGES DIRECTOR AGAIN

It feels like it shouldn’t be as hard as it is for Marvel to be struggling to make Blade happen. Since early pre-production of this film it has been plagued with many changing directors and writers constantly reworking the script, if not entirely chucking it out the window and starting afresh. This week brought a fresh update with director Yann Demange leaving the project, and Eric Pearson (wrote Black Widow) brought on to write the script again. At this stage it will be a miracle if the talent involved in the film still stick around for the project. Mahershala Ali is an extremely talented and multi oscar winning actor, he is very indemand and if Marvel aren’t careful he will leave the project or get tied up in scheduling conflicts with other projects.
