Inside Out Review

Bing Bong, Bing Bong

Inside Out features the voices of Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling and Richard Kind.

Riley is a young girl, whose life is turned upside down when her family moves far away to San Francisco. Her emotions (Joy, Disgust, Sadness, Anger and Fear) try to help Riley through this really hard time in her life. When the emotions make a big mistake and it is up to Joy (Amy Poehler) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to get back the Riley they knew before she moved to San Francisco. While Joy and Sadness are away trying to sort out the problem, Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling) must help Riley get back on track, but is their way the right way? and can Joy and Sadness return before it is too late.

Inside Out is the return of Pixar! This film has a great concept. The idea of us seeing our emotions is not usual and has been seen in many ways before but Pixar made this film different to what we have seen before. Even though this is a Pixar film, I would not say it is for children too much. This film is more for Parents, seeing it from Riley’s parents point of view, or young adults and teens who have just been in Riley’s place. Children will enjoy it but they would not understand some of things that happen. The film takes a few dark, serious moments but it is very funny with lots of laugh out loud moments. The serious moments really hit home and I really felt bad for Riley and worked superbly. The casting was perfect and the voices were perfect for each of the emotions.

Overall, I rate Inside Out 9/10! I thought it was really creative and different from Pixar! I like films that make me feel the way that Inside Out did. I really recommend this for everyone. Hopefully this means more original Pixar films because I don;t have high hopes for Toy Story 4 and Finding Nemo.

What did you think of Inside Out? Where would you say it ranked with other Pixar films?
