TOP 10 MOVIES 2015

It has been an amazing year in films. We have seen a return to the Millennium Falcon and Jurrasic Park.

This is my top 10 films of the year. The films that included are all the films that were released in 2015 that I have seen, I have no doubt there will be at least one really good film that just missed out because I have not seen it. These are also just my personal favourite movies of the year.

Honourable mentions: The Martian, Birdman, Foxcatcher, Jurassic World, Macbeth, Legend, Pitch Perfect 2, The Man from U.N.C.L.E and Krampus.

10. Kicking off my Top 10 list is Furious 7. The trailers for this film were epic and sold me completely. I remember watching it and thinking a little bit too much about some of the scenes in the film but if you sit back and enjoy the film, it is really good and so much fun, and a great tribute to Paul Walker. I look forward to seeing what insane stunt the team get up to in the next film.

9. Mad Max Fury Road. I know that, for a lot of people, this film will be a lot higher and possibly number one on their list. The film is action non stop for 2 hours. The action is incredible and to know that most of it was done using practical effects is fantastic. The reason why it isn’t as high on my list is that I am like a film with a little bit more of a story than I got in this film. I can imagine just having this film on in the background and turning to look at it when the big parts of the film are on but when those dips happened it suffered I think.

8. Avengers: Age of Ultron. A lot of people were really disappointed with Age of Ultron and I felt that the film did suffer from being over hyped. The more I watched it, the more I found that I enjoyed it as I just sat back and let the film happen, there are a lot of moments to love in the film. Ultron was a bit disappointing but I loved the new additions of Scarlet Witch and The Vision and can’t wait to see the teams battle it out in Captain America: Civil War.

7. Ant-Man. Another Marvel Cinematic Universe film. I was really surprised about how much I liked Ant-Man. Knowing the production trouble they had, I was quite worried going in and I wasn’t 100% sold on the film by the trailers. When I watched it, I was surprised that I got the best comedy of the year. Particular moments that stand out to me are Thomas the Tank Engine, Giant Ant and Anthony. This movie really did show that Marvel can’t do anything wrong.

6. Spectre. I enjoyed Spectre more than most people. I wasn’t a massive fan of Skyfall and the trailer hadn’t completely sold me. However, I was so relieved that the film went back and felt more like classic Bond. I loved how it tied up all the Daniel Craig Bond films together. I really liked the ending and I was glad they didn’t just end it like any of the others. I really hope Daniel Craig comes back for one more Bond film.

5. Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation. I really liked Rogue Nation. Like Bond, it went for a slightly different and it paid off. Tom Cruise is so perfect in this franchise and I was very impressed by Rebecca Ferguson and so happy that Simon Pegg got more to do in the film, because who doesn’t love Simon Pegg. I didn’t love the ending but I thought the action was incredible and featured one of the best bike chases I have seen.

4. Inside Out. Turns out that Pixar, can’t do much wrong either. This film is really perfect for everyone. I was surprised at how deep the film got for what is a children’s film and everyone can relate to the lead character of Riley. But the film also really made me laugh and there are a lot of moments for everyone to enjoy. On another year, this film might have been higher.

3. Kingsman: The Secret Service. This film was the biggest surprise of the year! The trailer’s did not sell the film well at all. I thought it was going to be an English Agent Cody Banks. I could not have been more wrong! This film is hilarious and the action is stunning. The violence is so over the top that is amazing and the scene in the church is incredible! Taron Egerton (plays Eggsy) has got a big future ahead of him. Can not wait for Kingsman 2.

2. Ex Machina. Ex Machina is a film that went under a lot people’s noses and noone noticed. The trailer really intrigued me but I was not expecting to love it as much as I do. The performances by Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander are stunning. I love the twist and it is so gripping and interesting, I highly recommend it to anyone.

1.Star Wars: The Force Awakens! I am sure that this was obvious for anyone that knows me. I am a massive Star Wars fan and initially it didn’t live up to my expectations but the more I watch it, the more I love it! The new characters are incredible and I love them all. So many moments, I really like that I won’t say just in case anyone has for some reason not seen it yet. What this film has set up could truly be amazing. Is it perfect? No, but it did what it had to and got us back in the Star Wars universe. Only 17 months until Episode 8!

What do you think of my top 10 list? What are your top 10 films of the year?
