THANKSGIVING TRAILER

It’s the spookiest time of the year, but just after Halloween for our American friends comes Thanksgiving. Not a holiday we celebrate here in the UK, but any excuse to give us another film to watch is welcome. Eli Roth made his name with horror films such as Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Green Inferno and Knock Knock, all in the horror genre and definetly some memorable entries. The first full trailer for his next film is out, Thanksgiving sees a masked killer terrorizing the town where the holiday was concieved. The film promises kills a plenty and certainly looks to be unique kills that will shock audiences, and could give the Halloween taste people might be looking for if Five Nights at Freddys doesn’t deliver.

SILENT NIGHT TRAILER

One holiday season onto the next one, Christmas is just a couple of months away now and John Woo is here to deliver this years alternative Christmas viewing. His latest film sees Joel Kinnaman play a man who’s son was killed in a gang chase, in the same incident his throat sustains damage meaning he doesn’t haved a functioning voicebox (Silent Night, get it). It very much comes across as a Christmas John Wick and that’s absolutely fine with me, last year we had Violent Night and I’m sure this will be just as good as that with infinetly more slow motion.

THE BEEKEEPER TRAILER

The final big trailer of the week came from David Ayer, director of Suicide Squad, Fury and Bright, a man who I only ever come across when he is talking about the Ayer cut of Suicide Squad, something which is very likely never to get released. His latest project sees him team up with everyone’s favourite bald British man, Jason Statham for a generic action film. I’m a little disappointed with this trailer and I thought it could do more, while it is good to see Ayer’s work again, this film feels like it will come and go and fade away as a lot of films released in January too. Also don’t ever make Statham do an accent, it’s weird, learn from this Hollywood.

LIVE-ACTION CYBERPUNK 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticapted games of the last few years, unfortunately the initial release was plagued with bugs and problems, putting a lot of fans off, but the few of us that didn’t get affected by these issues, or were able to look past them really enjoyed the immersive game set in a sci-fi, neon future. As a franchise Cyberpunk has also gone on to have success on the small screen with animated series Edgerunners. It is no surprise that a live-action project set in the Cyberpunk universe is in the works. Nothing is yet known about this project, but the potential of whatever they make, is sky high with the rich world CD Project Red have already created. My money would be on a series, and I can imagine quite the bidding war from streaming services to get their hands on it.
